Any ideas why the front windshield washers?

won't squirt the stuff?

Yes, the hose is connected and there is a bunch of stuff in "the tank"

Any ideas appreciated!

Re: Any ideas why the front windshield washers?

If you can hear the pump, could be trash has clogged the nozzles (clear with a straight pin). No sound = bad switch, bad connection, bad pump.

Re: Any ideas why the front windshield washers?

Mine had build up in them and I took a small pin to them and then blew them out with the air hose and they worked great. Also when you use the pin to clean them out it might move the angle of the nozzle so you will have to readjust them after reinstalling them. Mine were shooting over the car after I installed them.

Re: Any ideas why the front windshield washers?

When I have had that problem, I disconnected the hose from the hood nozzle and squirted them so it would flush the line. Then I unclogged the nozzle and tried again. Usually that does the trick. Good luck.

if it gets cold say -15 or so, they can freeze and stop as well.

Re: Any ideas why the front windshield washers?

Hah, in my case I showed Old Tom how the windsheild washers didn't squirt when I pulled back on the level, when he saw this he reached over and pressed the correct button on the end of the stalk to make them come on. I felt pretty stupid, but happy that it was human error rather than mechanical error.

Re: Any ideas why the front windshield washers?

Just a side note from a technician's perspective:

Use a good quality washer solvent with ammonia, a lot of the cheaper stuff without ammonia, especially if you just top the tank off with water, can let all sorts of funky stuff grow in the tank. I worked on a Toyota minivan that would like, shoot snot out of the squirters, it was pretty gross.
