All the tips and tricks on how to prevent slipping in terrible weather are really great! I guess what it's coming down to is that I would need some good winter tires and be a good snow driver!!

A very bad one... When the SVX becomes 50/50 all the time that is what is called the "AWD Bind Issue" as I understand it. It has to do with the failure of the solenoid C.

I see.. Bind = Bad.. But why not equal power to all the wheels? What terrible adverse effect would that have?

With the auto, the TCU continues to constantly vary the torque distribution as the wheels turn. Having it stuck in 50-50 without the TCU making it so is not what the transmission likes.

The Manual Transmission is 50-50 all the time though.
