Someone rescue this 96 Bordeaux

This seems like great buy for $1,200 OBO even with the bad tranny

Pictures of the car are from 2006. Wonder what it looks like now.

Re: Someone rescue this 96 Bordeaux

If someone wants to buy me lunch and pay for the gas, I'd be happy to drive up there and take a closer look

Any thoughts on this?

Not shifting out of second would more likely be the high clutch. One of the selonoids could cause this but more likely its the high clutch as that is what usually fails first on our trans.

Re: Someone rescue this 96 Bordeaux

Well, after initially asking $1200 and declining bids as high as $1010, the seller re-listed it and accepted $900 on 12/21.

Is the buyer anyone we know here? VIN is JF1CX8653TH100048.

I was slightly interested, but didn't have enough time right now to visit for a look (not to mention transport it back home).

Re: Someone rescue this 96 Bordeaux

That was almost as good a buy as my 94 pearlie for $1500 with a bad tranny and no body damage except a rusted pass door, which I replaced thanks to subafreak who sold me his 92 pearlie door. Good buy non the less.

Re: Someone rescue this 96 Bordeaux

Well, I didn't see this until today and I'm not in the market besides, but I might have had a peek a this one because it's extremely rare to see another SVX of any description in these parts. (I've seen one on the road all of once.) Hopefully the buyer will make it roadworthy and won't promptly wrap it around a telephone pole. I'll be on the lookout.
