Front Speaker install issue

Son installing replacement front speakers SONEY EXPLODE 6.5 inch. into doors.

He said that someone has already replaced the factory speakers and the attached mounting bracket. The hole is too big for the SONY'S so was wondering what anyone else has done when presented with this kind of problem. Does anyone make an aftermarket spacer or bracket?

Am trying to find a pair of USED factory speakers to get the brackets off of them, but was checking all possibilities.

I think I can help you with the stock rings off of a pair of OEM speakers...

Same here. Gives you more clearance if you have a bigger magnet as well.

My local stereo shop hooked me up with a set of plastic spacers that made the speakers fit pretty close to perfect. Cost me around $10 I believe I have component 6.5 kenwoods

My local Future Shop hooked me up with plastic spacers. They work well.

Edit: Come to think of it my speakers actually came with metal spacers but I didn't use them. I don't remember why.
