what kind of diff. fluid to use?

can some one point me in the direction of oil to use in the front and rear differentials? can i use Subaru Extra-S 75w90? or does it take atf?

75w 90 will work fine, but for the rear you need to mix lsd additive in with the oil, or you will probably damage the rear end. you can get it at most autoparts stores or the dealer sells it for under $10.

The spec is in the owner's manual, if you have one. I'm pretty sure a slightly different weight is listed for front and rear and second that no special limited-slip additive is specified. DO NOT use transmission fluid.

yeah, i don't have a owners manual unfortunatly. is anyone for sure about slightly different weights? i would love to just get a barrel of subaru extra-s, i heard it will do wonders for my LGT too.

Per the owner's manual:

Front differential—(operating temperatures -30 to +90F) 80W/90, capacity 1.3 US quarts

Rear differential—(operating temps as above) 75W/90, capacity 0.8 qt.
