I just ordered the intercooler and all of the tubing and the radiator tubing, we are going to use an 06 sti rad we get them for 250 so it is the most cost effective and it is all aluminum except for the end tanks, once I get everything fabed up we are going to pull the engine and do all the welding we need to, and we already started the wiring, bdr is doing it and he has a succesful ej25 swap in his 2.5rs so it shouldn't be a problem for him.

I forgot about this car. Nice to see it's still moving.

Soooo much room in front of the engine.....

I think the uber EJ25 mod would be to pull the engine forward as much as possible and bring the front wheels forward, shorten the front overhang. But that basically building a new front end for the car. Meh. (I don't like big amounts of car out past the wheels)

HELL. YES.

one suggestion: put the spare tire in that wide open space up front, for that classic subaru touch...

that would be nice, maybe mount it on the side to give it that Packard touch... thats where the car was prepped and painted. the intercooler is going to be 3 inches wide, the radiator an inch and a quarter and the fans 3 inches so with some spacing I actually won't have that much room in there. Now I just need to find a way to put a bed in the rear of the car to make it a svi-brat.

haha, definitely, just take out the trunk lid and spray-on some rhinoliner

Good luck on your project, in a way, your making the SVX Subaru shoulda made, i mean, why the hell go thru all the trouble of making a high compression 6 when you already have a turbocharged 4 making tons of power?

it is an engine out of an 06 wrx the first year the ej25 was in the Rex's. it makes 230hp out of the box and ours has 1000 miles on it so its not too far out of the box. Same as the svx engine, I wish I could have gotten my hands on an sti engine but this was too good of a deal to pass up. engine front and rear subframe, hubs, intercooler, wiring harness. Pretty much everything needed for a swap save coil overs, brakes, and wheels. We got it all for 5200.

As an FYI, the '06 WRX is actually under-rated at 230hp.

This is a stock vs stage 1 dyno graph on Cobb Tuning's awd Mustang Dyno for a 2.0L '02-'05 WRX (rated at 227hp):

This next dyno shows stock vs stage 1 for a 2006 2.5L WRX on the same dyno (rated at 230hp):

Are you going to keep an auto trans in your SVX or have you also done a 5/6MT swap? If you stay with an auto, I'd highly suggest switching to a Legacy 4.44 4EAT. On a 3,500lb car, this engine is going to feel like a dog when off boost, and shorter gearing will be beneficial.

we kept the same exact setup as an 06 wrx, we are using the 5 spd out of the 06 rex, and we are using the differential out of the 06 rex which is in the car already. the curb weight of the wrx is 3200 lbs, with the limited around 3250 lbs. and with the weight saved with the engine and transmission probably 100 lbs, also all of the aluminum suspension in the rear 10lbs, the teins, and 06 wrx seats 20lbs, the sound proofing removed 5lbs, and a fiberglass hood 35lbs, we should be around 3200 lbs. so it won't be that much of a difference.

Everything is going to be built off of a legacy chasis, and I believe they are shoving the new h6 in the legacy so it will fit, maybe a little cutting a welding to make clearance for the exhaust but if you want to do it be my guest. putting a smaller engine in there is a big enough headache.

Doing the REX seats is not that hard. I did it in a total of maybe 7-8 hours. The driver seat was the biggest pain. I have more pics than what I put in the thread if you want them pm me.
