What's in your trunk?

I've always lugged around way too much stuff in the trunk of my car: Tools, oil, ATF and brake fluid, lengths of assorted hoses, a used spark plug or two, old fan belts, bungee cords, duct tape, wire, an old vinyl tablecloth... you get the picture. Just wondering what y'all consider essential road gear for a working SVX.

But all that stuf is necessary. The table cloth is good for laying on while trying to work under the car along the road, and you never know when you might need a belt or plug because of a break down. I'd add a bunch of tools, a coil pack, battery charger, and some other stuff.
I bought a 244 peice tool set from Sears about a month ago. It's in the trunk right now. It's pretty cool, all those tools and the orgional box it's still in is only about 10"x6"x5". Not very much space used for the amount of tools in it. I also have about 5 belts of various, oil, 3 coil packs, a new altenator mount with tentioner bolts, and 4 versions of Stage 3 software.

Actually I do use that table cloth every time I change the oil, and most of my good tools (what few there are) stay in the teal 'cos for now it's the one I take on longer trips.

In all seriousness, I've considered going ahead and getting an MAF sensor, proper formed heater hoses and that sort of thing, not likely to be found in stock at any corner parts house, and starting a genuine "travel kit." Question is, what to include?

I think I have room in my trunk for a pool cue.

It's not an SVX, but most of the time it looks like this:

Today I have some car parts in there that somebody's picking up after work.

Minimum

I have had few problems with my SVXs on the road. The problems I did have like failed coil still let the engine run and have been able to get where I need to go. All I carry is the OEM jack and tool set. No additional fluids or oil---my cars don't use any measureable amount. I do have a new set of wipers in one for a future change. Other than that only whatever I need for where I am going or what I am doing.

I managed to stuff an entire futon, metal frame, wood sides, and mattress in in the trunk/rear seats. Perfect fit.

You must get lousy gas mileage, and the abuse on your rear springs, ouch

I have a bottle of wheel cleaner, tool box, tire dressing, a suede brush, misc rags, an old summit catalog and some metal polish. I used the metal polish to remove the yellow haze from my clear lenses on the front of the car, it works great. Oh yeah, I also have an empty gas can, I had to buy one at a gas station once and paid almost $20 for a 1 gallon gas can, it sould be a crime to extort money out of you when you are in a hard situation.

Small fire extinguisher, flares and a roll of paper towels. The tow truck and shop will have everything else you require.
