My clutch is an on/off switch since I went to a 6puck... No way I could consistantly leave it in 3rd

3rd all the way, unless I'm on the highway above say 65 MPH.
It's definitely easier on the tranny.

Hiya,

I drive with the power button switched on all the time, I use 3rd around town or roads where I am constanly changing speed upto to 60mph.
On motorways or constant speed A roads I use D, when I use cruise control it turns off the power mode anyway.

In very heavy stop start traffic I use manual mode as its a little less severe pulling away in bumper to bumper traffic.

D, because my smallcar shift kit causes gear hunting on decelleration in 3.
I also rarely do below 50.

My thought exactly....especially in the SVX with the high gearing, anything below 50 mph is better off in "3"

I have really good brakes.

But seriously any time I am driving low speed it is low enough the tranny won't shift into 4th anyway. I drive so infrequently and such short distances the thing almost never reaches overdrive temp.

I drive in 3 anywhere under 50 mph...less shifting at low speeds and less wear on the tranny.
I had tons of clunking problems in my truck because I always drove in D at slow speeds and the tranny was always shifting at different times frequently...so I drive in 3 in it also and no problems.

The way things are looking I'll probably need one soon. I'm getting a little lag here and there. The guys that rebuilt it had that mentality of "oh it's just a Pathfinder transmission" and "go easy on it it's very fragile" which to me says they did a half-assed rebuild. They didn't even consider the AWD after all.

My tranny was just completely rebuilt, w/ new electronics and everythang. So i got an external filter, ext. cooler, and a shift kit, drive around in 3. Hopefully she will last me a while.

Why the shift kit? I personally advise against it as it has disadvantages in respect of a properly operating transmission.
