3D Engine Stuff

So, for everyone who asked, I've started animating the 3D H-6 I made up. I appologize for the terrible quality, I'm going to use a better rendering algorithm when I do the final one.

I'll update this when I make some more progress. Eventually the full valvetrain will be animated along with the crank and pistons.

I can see why you don't have time to do the entire car but you are using quite a few polys there.

lol Thats the first thing i asked the IT guy at work to do for me... He's goin to try and convert it for me.

The EG33 timing belt only goes around the lower 2 cam sprockets.....

But it looks really cool....can you convert it to a DXF file?
I use AutoCAD and would like to play around with it too

........and all the inlet valves don't open together.......and the crank is a 120* not 180*

to all of you!!! I started that engine as a flat 4 before I even knew what an SVX was. I know the layout of the EG33 timing belt, but this one took me something like 4 hours to make. I just don't feel like going through that again, and then making geared camshafts to match. The valves are all in their closed positions right now, I haven't positioned any yet, or moved the cam lobes to where they need to be to open the valves.

If an Avatar-sized logo comes out of this it's MINE , but I'll make you one if I figure out how, just let me know what you'd like, within reason. Keeping it under 100 kb might be tricky though.

Sorry Huck, I don't use an engineering program (ProE or 3DS Max or something like that). The program I use is called TrueSpace, and is meant solely as a graphics program. I can't save in different formats other than the program's own kind. I can give you all sorts of wire frame pictures of individual components though, and let you have fun with those!

Ah no worries.

Update: I made a GIF file out of my spinning hood badge animation, but I recieved an error message saying I'm not allowed to upload animated images. I know I've seen one before though, I believe PhastSVX has a spinning torbo one. Arg.

Edit: It works (I think) if you link it from another site, photobucket and such. But the file is too big right now. More to come!

Further edit: I squashed the file down to the required size, but the quality is absolutely horrific, the thing spins way too fast, and there's an annoying headline across the top because I used the trial version of a software and there's no way I'm paying for the full version. Here's what I put together.
