My 4000th post, and I need guidance.
I think I am officially veteran now, but that's not what this thread is about.
I'm cleaning my car (yeah, again) and for some reason it is dirtier than ever, with stains all over the carpeting. I'll take it to a pro detailer soon for that but right now I'm doing all the light work which for the very first time will include removing the seats. I want to do this within the next ten minutes. Problem is, I don't know how to take the seats out. I can already hear the petition to recount the veteran statement. Anyhoo, I'm sure this is pretty simple, but i've looked over the rails and I can only see one screw/bolt. I looked in the How-tos, there is nothing, I searched unsuccessfully. If someone could post a quick guideline to doing that it would be great. -- On a different note I fiddled with my stereo today and found a setting that puts out way more bass from my stock speakers than what I had it on. I turned it down a little because I don't want to blow them up, but I heard this very annoying rattle/buzz. I found it out to be the driver's door handle on the outside. Is there a way to tighten that up? -- Something unrelated: My camera no longer feeds video for some reason so it will be a long time before I have any new pics of anything. Wheels are coming first and will empty my car funds temporarily again. I'm going for the 18inch x7.5 silver KZ-As on (maybe) Kumho Ecstas. Unless I wait til spring or can be persuaded into a different wheel. I know I've said I would get Centerlines, and Rotas, and whatever in the past but I am serious this time. -- SVXFiles: If your friend is still moving to AK and if that fg hood is still possible to be packed in there and if it's any time soon I'd like to make that happen. If not, it's cool. --- I'm going to mess with the passenger seat in the meantime and see if I can figure it out.

Might as well mention I am moving across town to a cheaper duplex (single car-gar) tomorrow and taking the weekend in Detroit (East sy-eed!) to visit some relatives.
--- Ok I figured out the seats. It took a quick look and I realized I was missing more trim pieces which is why I could see a bolt. I took off some plastics and I see 6 bolts. Is there more? (ed: There is 5.) Whoever owned this thing before me did not take very good care of it. >:( ---- Argh! Some dope ground the edge of my only 14mm wrench so if I pull too hard on it it will snap apart, and these bolts are wicked tight. My only 14mm socket attaches to my smallest ratchet so I can't get any leverage DDDD: Off to the store....

Haha, yeah it kinda crept up on me.
-- Passenger seat is out. Man it's beautiful. So much room to put stuff in there. --- Got me some WD, white lithium grease, and a shiny 14mm socket. ---- YAR, THAR BE TREASURE! I found a Chuck E. Cheese token dated 1996, and it's like glued to a corroded penny dated 1965. :O

The best thing that I have found to help with bolts or nuts that are frozen on is P B Blaster. It is amazing stuff. WD X 10

I WDed the bolts at the parts store (opened al my windows) and a few minutes later at home they came off pretty easy. I got a socket for my uber big pivoting wrench so I had some good leverage as well. Took about 3 minutes to get it out. I could probably use some P B stuff for the bolts on my undercarriage. Now I am off to check out the exhaust system my friend installed on his new 03 WReX.

So my friend takes me around so I can "feel" the power of his exhaust.
He says it gave him 40hp. My butt dyno says the answer is no, but hey it's loud so nobody is the wiser. He put a 6589897inch downpipe in the stock turbo, factory boost level. So he's like "Think I can do a burnout?" I'm like "No." He's like "I think I can." I'm like "I don't think you can." Him: "[some guy] did it." Me: "No you need something." H: "Needs more power." M: "Yeah you need power. And something." "I think I can do it." "I dunno man". So he goes to a place. "See any cops?" "No... o_O" *revvvv* "Uh dude make it really short. o_O;;" *drop* *loud exhaust* *g forces* *people staring* "Um... all I smell is clutch. You're gonna destroy your clutch." "That's 5 years [of] abuse [in a 5 second span of time]." "Yeah something like that." "Awww ****... I'm not doing that for you anymore." "Yeah, I agree." "You should invest in a stronger clutch." "Naw I don't really drive like that. ... I'm gonna get ECUtek" (or something) "Yeah."

no frickin way he got 40hp with only a DP on a stock '03 WRX. the gain he would get wouldn't be felt right away if he very recently installed the DP - the ECU needs some time to adjust to it.

Yeah it actually felt exactly the same as stock, just louder and I could hear the turbo spooling. I'm like dude I don't think you got 40hp out of it. He's like "look on the internet." Probably got worked by some NASIOCer. --- Here's the kid: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1086768 Interesting coincidence. They recommend PB Blaster. Must be good stuff. IT's finish! Haha he's such a FOB.

40 ponies... not a chance. I would doubt hardly any more peak horsepower... usually the only advantage to a larger dp is quicker spool, but then that depends on if boost is increased, etc.
Nick, you're such a noob! PB Blater is fantastic stuff. I just picked up a can a couple weeks ago (just to have around). Around 6-7 years ago I was working on my dad's old motorcycle (that had sat for around 15 years). Days of soaking the carbs in B12 chemtool (strong plastic eatin' stuff) couldn't free up much... but with a blast a PB and 5 minutes... the floats started moving almost like new! Like Earl said, it really is like WD-40 times 10... +. Worth having around... I actually found some at Wal-Mart.
