Why only a 3/8's drive? Why not something bigger?

A tip that was passed on when I had trouble removing the flexplate bolts was to grind down the end of the socket. The heads on the bolts for the TC and Flexplate are thin, Sockets are somewhat funnel shapped for the first bit of their depth, so that gives even less of an impact area. By grinding away the funnel, you get a little better grip on the shallow headed bolts.

Okay, I had to grind the TC bolts off. No biggie though.
Anywho, now I am at the point where I need to take the tranny off. How many bolts do I need to find and remove in order to get it off? I have the starter off. I can only seem to find 2 bolts. Is this it? T.I.A. Noah |

1 bolt through the starter
1 bolt up in the area of the TC access hole 2 nuts on the bottom. they shouldn't be too far from where the tc sticks out the bottom. Look at the holes on your new tranny, you'll figure it out. I think there are 6 holes, two are alignment dowl holes and the four furthest apart are what you are looking for.
