Quite a few people on Evom have posted 12.9 sec 1/4 mile times on stock '06 Evo 9's (the MR isn't faster than the RS or the regular 9).

A stock Evo 8 can't touch a 12.9 sec 1/4 mile.

My car is 100% bone stock with 6,800 miles on the odometer. I'm running a 'true' factory stock set-up (nothing from the intake, intake resonator, turbo, intercooler, exhaust, engine management, etc has been changed). I used Shell 93 octane gas (had just over a 1/4 tank) and my tire pressures were set at 40psi all around. Only weight reduction I did was remove my spare tire (left jack in the trunk). I weigh 170lbs.

I got to the track early and my engine was able to cool for 1.5 hours before my first pass. I made 2 passes and launched at 5,000rpms w/ clutch slip. I'm car #22:

Yup - that intercooler is the stock unit also found on the '04+ FXT. Heat soaks pretty quickly in warm temps when you get on the throttle alot.

Perhaps the SRT4 driver doesn't know how to launch that day...and the AWD TR does help in better launch...

I'm happy with your time too, chike. Do you have/know about any info that what're the quickest 1/4 mile times for stock EVO(MR) and STI(Spec C) up to today?
Nah, I don't post a lot on other forums. I'm not posting much on this one anymore either come to think of it...

The SRT-4 driver gave it his best shot - he had sticky summer rubber and the conditions were pretty ideal yesterday. He just didn't have the goods.

I read a post on EvoM of a guy who went 13.1 in a stock Evo VIII. Stock Evo IX's with good driver's are going 12.9's. There have also been 2-3 STI owners who've gone 12.9 in stock STIs. No clue about the STI Spec C model...

That's awesome Mychailo. Do you have any plans to autoX and/or maybe take her to the dragstrip over the summer?

Please start a thread with pics when you pick her up!

Thanks guys.

Drew, the front end wasn't love at first sight for me either, but it made the car stand out enough that when I needed to get a four door car (for family reasons), it was the perfect switch from my former SVX. Imprezas, lancers and neons will always be common cars, but take off the wing and the hood scoop/vent, I still wanted the look of my car to stand out.

The '06 Imprezas do this for me as well as the new Evo IX's.

I got your back Chike. Let's go whomp some SRTs. I wish the Midnight Blue 968 i showed you was in my garage right now. It has around 260 at the wheels and I believe around 3300lbs, I'm not sure on the latter. The 951 I was looking at was faster I'm sure, it was lighter and turbocharged. And cheaper, but I just love the looks of the 968.

unpossible.
he obviously traveled around the world at the speed of light and was on his 2nd time around when you hit the end of the strip just ahead of him. good thing you didn't race for pinks. he would have been trailering your car home.

Thanks Dan. That Midnight blue 968 sounded awesome. Like you I also prefer the styling of the 968 over the 951. Of course, all 80's/early 90's Porsches look best in black...IMHO

Thanks Phil. Yeah, these WRX TR's have some serious bang-for-your-buck. I'm almost at mid 13's in a stock 23K car!

Not sure about mods just yet - wheels and r-compound tires first!
