Power company came by and gave the 'nod'...

I couldn't hear her over the cement truck, so she had to nod....

Sparks will fly by next weekend. plasma cutter will be here tomorrow....
Has anyone seen the commercial where the woman comes into her garage and says' " I KNOW it's in here somewhere", and pushes the button on her key pad to make the burried car 'chirp'??

That's me!!

Like I said. I NEED MORE storage.

Well. anyway. It's not burried anymore. It's sitting outside of the wet concrete, waiting for it to dry enough that we can become re-aquainted in the new digs.

red truck stopped by again!

We hooked the carport we built to the garage I bought last week, so the birthday party will have 'coverage' if the weather doesn't co-operate. I can build a fire that will scorch the paint if it's cold. I have asked the Lord for 70 degrees for the occasion.
Sorry, no pics yet, cause I'm too busy BUILDING things.

I was standing in the yard today scratching my chin and Harry said, " Don't DO that"!! He said " Every time you do that, we have to build another ROOF"!

( As he finished painting, I told him to bring a ladder, cause we had another roof to build). We built it, and it was GOOD! ( that's when the carport hooked to the garage)

This is the MOST PRODUCTIVE YEAR of my LIFE!!! I'm not done yet! It's not snowing!
And dropped off another 30 12 ft 2x4's and 150 board feet of trim boards. Also was another 6 gallons of exterior latex, which brings my total for this year to 79 gallons.( so far) Harry brought a grill and pic-nic table he no longer wanted, so we put them in the carport and he painted the table to match everything else. Then he painted the trim boards on the 4 bay the same red, so it looks like it belongs here.
I am heating the house with the 'debris' from the demo of the north wall.
The wife calls it," burning down the house, a little at a time". ( we heated it for the first winter we were here from the demo leavings)

Then ANOTHER red truck came to my work tonight and dropped off a spool gun and a PLASMA CUTTER! SVX files was in the area and stopped by in time to see the check handed over.

I found a machine that will bend 90 degrees, bend a rolled section, or shear off metal.. ( 14 guage) DUHH, 3 in one! Sign me UP!! As soon as I get the metal debris off the truck, I'm going BACK there!

I found a bucket truck in my yard!

As I was taking Lou and Molly out to the 'cottage', I stumbled across 2 'sparkys' and a bucket truck in my yard.
At 12:30 PM, they left and the inspector had put the YELLOW sticker on the meter trim!
All I need now, is for the power co to HOOK IT UP!

The plas is setting 4 feet from the outlet. The air compressor is setting next to the plas, the 30 Willys is parked in the 'welding' bay, I have a full tank of gas on the mig and a spare tank on the GMC.
The 'sketches' are done, metal on the GMC,a 1/2 gallon jug of Lord Calvert in the fridge, ( to aid in creativity)

I NEED POWER!!!! I am ready for POWER, I WANT power!!!

Thumbs up Sparks were flying!

When I got home from work wed night, the POWER co HAD BEEN here!
As I drank my first coffee of the day, Harry took a piece off of his Toyota P/u that needed a little weld....
I hooked the MIG to it's new outlet, turned on the co2, hooked up the ground wire and struck the FIRST arc in the brand new welding shop!!!
When I finished the task, I told Harry that he owed me 1 DOLLAR, since I needed one to put in the frame and hang on the wall.
He 'stiffed' me, so I will take it off his next PAY! THEN I will have the first dollar in the frame.....

Awesome Jerry! So will my SVX be the first one to get the full treatment of repairs with all your new goodies? I expect to be seeing you around the 11th of November or so if all goes well. I'll keep you posted on that.

Home Stretch!!

I tore off the old side porch roof while Harry patched the 100 year PLUS old tin roof, painted the south attic wall, replaced the flashing, swept all the debris up, (while I got ready for work). When I got home at 11:00 pm. I noticed that the 150 year old chimney was no longer ready to fall OFF, so I had to go up the ladder for a close look. The project for tomorrow happened today, while I was at work!

I think EVERYONE needs a Harry!!

He only shows up when he wants to, but BUSTS his butt while he's here!

Started painting the ROOF

We are 95% DONE fulfilling MY WILDEST DREAMS for a span of 8 MONTHS!!!!

I left for work today as Harry was painting the 100+ year old tin to match the 2 month old tin!
My goal was to have ALL repairs DONE, Improoovments DONE, Huckleberry's place under roof, a garage roof that only lets it rain OUTSIDE, a coat of paint or two on the ENTIRE shack and the roof painted to match everything we did over the last 2 months.
When the roof is red too, we can finish the FRONT of the house. ( I put the part that faces the street off till last).
It is TIME to paint the front!

This shack is over 125 ft long, 2 stories high, 150 years old, EVERYTHING needed fixed, has been ignored for 50 years, ( yea, me too, cause I spent all my time and money on the Planet MRAF for the last 11 years)

The Planet MRAF has actually caused the 'revitalization', because the 159 year old shack had NO VALUE untill I spent the time and money to improve the farm, and 'piggy-backed' the collateral to do the improvements here!

Now, I/WE, ( Harry and I ), have turned one of the worst houses in the 'hood' to one of the 'jewels' of the neighborhood!!

I guess the TAX MAN is as excited as I am!

The roof is red now....

I got off work tonight and dragged all the wood, metal, screws and tools to the 'site' of tomorrows project.
I even dragged the gas pump out to the post it will set next to for the next 30 years or so....
It was only for the pic, cause it needs to spend some quality time in the welding shop and paint shop.
I picked up the metal brake/roller/sheer today!
It is now setting about 5 feet from the PLAS!!!

The most serious repair/ mod that I have done in the new shop, so far, is to my lawn mower. I did repair a trowel that I broke patching the roof that I recently covered with new tin. I also welded up a devise that held the rods that I will soon be going through like WILDFIRE.

If the weather holds out for the rest of this week, The outside of the 150+ year old shack will be done (for this year), and the focus will be shifted to the cars!

I gotta fall down now, so I can be awake when Harry shows up.

DAMN!!! It's hard to do everything that people expect and still fulfiull your dreams!

A little bit of 'recognition' goes a long way when that is all a man has to go on......

I guess a man has to fulfill his DREAMS, and worry about the 'recognition' after he starves to death!!! ( isn't that the way of the old composers of the symphonies?)

Saturday, we finished the roof on the 'hooking the new shop to the building' phase.
I also hauled the stuff down to get er done on the big shop.
I still need to insulate and put the doors on, but falling snow will have to blow in instead of falling through the hole.
At least I got both Dodge trucks put out of the weather.( and dog pee) I grew wearey of cleaning dog pee off my Baby Moons every time I looked at them.

I am SERIOUSLY burning out on this whole 'home improvement' thing.....

Yes, Jerry I know what you mean!
But you are getting more done this year than you thought possible!
Once the outside is secure you can slow down a notch, and pace yourself.
Only work 12 hours a day!!!

Spent some 'quality time' in the dog house today, It's almost ready for it's own Christmas tree! 3 neighbors came by and sat in the grape arbor to watch the 'improooovments' to the dog house today.

A comment was made about Christmas lites on the outside, but I told them that there will be lights INSIDE too!

update; The dogs now have their own Christmas tree and lights INSIDE and outside.

I have used 15 boxes of 100 lights, 2 boxes of the big ones (30 ) bulbs each, recycled 5 strings of old ones and plan on buying more.
