It's Dark & Cold
What can one do for light and heat in a garage with no electricity? I was thinking a tank top propane heater and a portable car starter with 12v outlet & a flood light. I don't want a gererator because I rent, and I don't think the owner would like it (noise + smells). I also have almost no room, about 2 feet around the car. Any suggertions would be appreciated.

You could close all the doors and windows and run the car... The exhaust should heat it up fairly quickly, and the headlights can provide the light
I saw a small propane "Jet Type" heater at Advance Auto today, I didn't look real close, but you may want to stop by your local store and check it out?? For light, your best bet may be an extra car battery with a 12 volt work light wired to it. You can take it home and charge it between work sessions??

I know a small garage can get you down, but I still have some hope for it If I go that route I'd have to buy a battery, charger & 12v light. I'll check out the zone for a heater. thanks

I have a propane jet type heater that works great. For light, you could get one of those portable batteries with the jumper cables on it. They usually have a 12 volt plug in and you could use a 12 volt light on it. Then, you would take it to power and recharge it. That way you also have an emergency jump start to carry with you. Double service. Hope it works out for you.

You could also use a headlight (the full size glass ones). Just modify a cheap extension cord with clamps on one side to hook up to a car battery then just plug in the headlight.
...that or just buy a 12v trouble light.
