SVX on Fox News tonight

I was watching Fos News this evening and they were doing a story on the blizzard in Fargo, ND. One of the visuals was of a scene of a tow truck using a tow cable to pull a car out of the snow.

As I watched the car appear into view I first noticed the spoiler... then those unmistakable windows.... a dark colored SVX was being pulled by its rear tow hook. It looked like it was on fairly flat ground and not a lot of snow accumulation.

Anyone else catch this?

I saw the SVX on CBS Evening news. It was a green one being pulled out. Must've been a FWD... thats the only explination.

Just saw it on Fox News and came in to post but, as usual, you guys beat me to the punch.

Maybe it was FWD or maybe they did it with mirrors! Embarrassing

For those of you, like me, who don't get the CBS Evening News on TV, they are kind enough to broadcast over the internet.

You can spot the green SVX being towed out of the ditch here: http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/i_vi...el=eveningnews

This link takes you to the current news stories available for viewing. Scroll down on the left side list to the story called "Winter Storm Pummels Midwest". You'll have to watch carefully, 'cause it is only a brief glimpse.

Enjoy!

CBS really edited that video footage! The clip I saw showed a lot more of the car for a lot longer period of time. About a 20 sec. clip.

I was so excited when I actually saw an SVX on national TV today on the CBS evening news. You guys always spot SVXes in strange places.... we weren't even really watching.. We were getting ready to go out... and happened to catch it... hubby and I both screamed "SVX!!!" before the windows even showed.....how tuned in are we?
And why was that SVX being drug out of a snowbank?

I first saw the spoiler. I was like hey and hit the rewind on our DVR and replayed it several times.

Me too. I was hardly paying attention and saw that wing, then they widened the shot to show about the back third of the passenger side. The tow truck gave the poor thing a VERY rude jerk. The CBS report originated in Minneapolis, but that clip could have come from anyplace in the northern-midwestern U.S.

Being yanked around by a wrecker in the snow on national TV is quite the unflattering posture for a Subaru of any stripe.

I don't believe the CBS clip even showed the wheels. Had I blinked, I would have missed it.

Bad tires is my guess. AWD is great, but nothing can compensate for junk tires. Speed could also be a factor. AWD does not make you invinceable!
