Traded in my '00 SVT Lightning back in late April/ early May for my SVX. It was one *sweet* truck but guzzled gas like a boat...

my svx ... im really fond of my dads dodge 3500 high output cummins turbo diesel with a bully dog chip that gives it 90 hp with the flick of the switch ( 3 point off, 50hp, and full 90hp) he is getting a banks monster muffler and ram air intake wich gives it more airflow to the intercooler....after that he plans on the newest bully dog programmer, a bigger turbo (bully dogs hybrid turbo) and keystones ram air hood with their functional intake ....ive been trying to convince my mom to get at least a chip and some nice classy looking chrome rims on her toyota sequiya but she dosent want to ....when i sell my svx i want to get a 1967 mustang and will post pics , which my dad is now thinking he wants to get me a dodge 1500 with a hemi instead but well see what happens heh

I would think everybody would believe their car is desireable. I know I do, but i'm biased.

Thinking on a broader scope, the car I own now is probably the most desireable car i've ever owned. I got alot of compliments on my 1996 GTP too...but those were mainly from GP guys. The TA i guess has a broader appeal.

You know what else I like? The new TL. That's just a neat looking car.

Cars

Hi everyone, Well back in '97 I had to get rid of my "Justy" When I got my SVX. I told everyone I had doubled my cylinders by going to the SVX. Take care, BOBB

Well, that depends, desirable to others, or just me? Cause I've loved most my cars, but they're probably stuff that people 'round here could care less about. I've still got my XT6, which is hopefully undergoing a complete rebuild next spring. I loved and truly miss both my Trans Ams, I had an '83 and an '84 during high school. I still call those my "stalker T/A's", because they were both black and beat to hell, so I looked like a typical Lifetime Movie kidnapper or stalker. I would love to get another again someday, either an '84 Recaro Edition, or a '76-'78 SE, just in much better shape than mine were. Other notables: my ugly-ass pea green '85 Monte Carlo super boat, and my '87 GL hatchback, it was my first Subie and a blast to beat the snot out of.

Have owned that was desirable:

75 TR6
86 BRAT
66 Honda Dream 305 (not mine but in my resto possesion currently)
95 SVX

The BRAT by far out weighs everyone's interest. I can't go a week without being asked about it and told stories about the one they used to have or a friend had. Funny for a vehicle that about the same amount arrived on our shores as did the SVX.

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

Are you sure about that? I thought I read somewhere that there were about 90,000 Brats over the years in the US......

Found it:

An article from Road and Travel (roadandtravel.com)

"Subaru is another car company that fell into that scenario. Always regarded as kind of a "quirky" manufacturer, Subaru's foray into the unknown was the "Brat," introduced in 1977. For those not alive back then, the Brat was what Subaru called its Bi-drive Recreational All-terrain Transporter, for lack of a better description. Car and Driver magazine called it a "truckette." The Brat was an inside-the-cabin two-seater with two reverse-facing seats outside in the bed area. It was designed for the youth market and offered four-wheel drive (before Subaru became a strictly AWD manufacturer), 71 horsepower, and cute-as-a-button styling. But many folks had trouble overcoming the "what is it exactly?" factor. After a 10-year run, the Brat sold a total of 92,445 units and finally was cancelled."
