Question Cheap rims and tires

I found a company that is selling cheap rim and tire combos. I was wondering what everyone thought of these. I mean the quality is going to be less than perfect but, its a low price for rims and rubber. Thanks

sounds okay, but the tire size they are including won't work well for the svx.

Yeah, the prices are great, but the one thing that makes me wary is that they don't say what brand of tire is included...

Ya I was thinking the same thing. They're probably $20 knock-offs. Yet another question to ask them.

I wouldn't necessarily knock cheap tires. The summer tires I bought for my Justy were $30 apiece. They're actually very soft and grippy, but for $30 each I figured I can afford to chew through a set over this autocross season.

Smile rimZ...TIREz!!!

Ok, so I talked to a guy at the shop and I told him I was looking for a 5 lug with a 4.5 bolt pattern and he said he had them (in multiple styles) and that the rims had a 40-45mm offset, so I think that would work. Am I correct? 5-lug, 4.5 (114.3) bolt pattern and 40-45mm offset.
The tires mounted depend on what is in stock and what you would prefer. They mount Kumho 711 and 712's and Hankook Ventus Sport K104 (z-rated) or K102 (h-rated).
For a price of $599 mounted, shipping included...doen't sound bad. I'm thinking of ordering a set of the Volution Efficient rims with kuhmo 712's, gun metal grey 17's would look good on a dark teal SVX. Let me know what you guys think.

Actually the Hankook K104 looks like a better tire. For a 17" rim, what size tire should I be looking at getting? How would a 205/40/17 look? Would the profile be too low? I am not an expert tire guy, so any advice is appreciated.

205 is too small

go with a 225/45-17 for a better look.

Re: rimZ...TIREz!!!

Those were the best looking rims I saw on there! Yeah, the Ventus Sport K104 are a better tire but I also agree - get them in 17" 225/45.

They want $24 more per tire to go with 225/45/17's but at $700 for new rims and tires I dont think I will complain. The Ventus is a good tire and the rims will look good. If anyone is interested they will be carrying the same rim in a 18 inch next month, they dont know what the price difference will be. I need tires and cant afford to wait. I will be ordering them tomorrow. Thanks for the input.
