Warning: RACECONCEPTS no longer in business
Wood Ly, the founder of Raceconcepts, who many of us have bought rotors from in the past, has sold his company. I have had a number of excellent experiences buying from Wood over the past two years, and it saddens me to see the company go. They carried good products at a fair price and I'll be looking for someone out there to fill Wood's shoes.
The individuals now trading under the banner "Raceconcepts.net" are not the same business that was present there before. I have just had a very unpleasant experience with them and would urge the community to not do business with them in the future. Their unprofessionalism and bad attitude should not be rewarded. Thanks, Jason Porter |

Well, that stinks...
Wood was definitely a stand-up guy and always delivered on his promises. Guess I'll have to change my signature line -Bill

That is no good, no good at all. Where do we get rotors from now??? I put rear rotors from iRotors on my car, but they were nowhere near thesame quality of the Bradi's from raceconcepts.

I sure would have liked to know ahead of time so I could have got rotors that I wanted. I am saddened to hear that and that the other company is not going to give the same service.

Crud.
I was inches away from placing an order. Planned to call them tomorrow. May I ask what the nature of the problem was? Any other good sources?

Wood sold the company about two and a half weeks ago, probably just after you placed your order.
It was during the same time period that I placed an order via email on behalf of a customer just as I always have. Several days later I had not received a notice from Wood (which was odd) and I made several attempts to follow up via email. I finally received a response from a "Ben" stating that Wood was "no longer with the company." I took issue with that considering that Wood IS the company, and was informed that Wood had sold the company to these new owners, who are in the process of moving it to a new location. They told me several times that the rotors were shipping "right away" and then when I tried to get a total from them to have a check cut for COD, they refused to respond. At that point I started calling on the phone, and after leaving several messages I got ahold of Ben personally. When I asked about the status of the rotors he launched into this long diatribe about how Wood had leased some $40,000 milling machine and how they didn't want it because it was overpriced and how he was suing Wood in civil court over it and all of this unrelated nonsense. When I pressed him for information about the rotors, he was very flippant, like "yeah whatever, we may get them out tomorrow or the next day, we're kind of busy here." I told him I'd have to call him back and he hung up on me without even saying goodbye. I thought about it at that point and realized that it had been almost three weeks since we sent the original order in. I called him back and told him to cancel the order, and that we would not be doing business with them in the future. His response was "Cool," and he hung up on me. So, to make a long story short, Raceconcepts is no more as far as I am concerned. Obviously these people aren't in the spirit of the business as Wood was, and based on their talk of suing him, they are no friends of Woody. You can make your own judgment. -Porter |

I only hope that Wood can start a new company. I was thinking about getting rotors for my other cars.

That sounds pretty jacked up man!!! That drives me crazy!!! Not being able to contact people that have parts of mine or something I ordered (Ya know I'm teasing ya porter) But really though I know how it feels... When Dan at "Stebro" never got back with me and took 3 months to send me my order I nearly bought a plane ticket up there to Canade and brought a few cans of "Whoop-ass" with me!!! Really in order to have a good businuess all ya have to have is good costomer service and fast response.. When that isn't there, noone wants to do businuess with ya... The new raceconcepts.net people will soon find this out... I won't be ordering rotors from them now... Looks like the Dragon is gonna be hit this year with stock rotors

I second the "that stinks" comment. It's hard enough to find good parts for a good price along with good service for any car (let alone the SVX). I bought front and rear rotors from Woody a year ago. Have the rears on the car right now. In addition to Woody being a nice guy over the phone, I am very happy with the rotors. Good thing I bought the front rotors even though I didn't need them. They have been sitting in my closet for a year. They will find a good home on my SVX over Memorial Day.

Ben was the contact there for me back in February. I never was able to reach Wood. While Ben's salesmanship was less than stellar, it wasn't objectionable either. Granted, I never closed the deal.
Maybe Ben was an employee of Wood's who bought him out. Maybe he just had a really terrible day. Maybe things there completely stink. Anyone with other sources??
