Talking I'm baaaaaaack

Not that I was a major presence on the board or anything, but I was gone for a while & now I'm back so I just thought I'd say hi I had to drive - get this - a MINIVAN for an entire month while my SVX sat dormant in my mother's garage 6 hours away. I went to visit her, it died, I went back a month later and dared it NOT to start. It started, we came home to SLC, and life's been good. Now I'm looking forward to some costly maintenance work (timing belt, rear brakes & rotors - fun stuff) and wondering whose black SVX that was I saw sitting in the Murray Best Buy parking lot today. Don't see too many SVXen in the SLC area, so it brightened my day to see one that could pass as the MA5T3R's twin....

Thanks for the WB, Harry

I never had it looked at, but I'm guessing it was just a case of bad gas &/or a gunked-up fuel line. It tends to stall on me sometimes when I back out of my driveway, or right after starting. I've actually gotten used to this phenomenon, and almost forgot that I should probably get that fixed. hehe

Welcome back, Ms. DP. With regard to the the stalling - start with the simple stuff first. Clean out the throttle body. My old Mopar van sputtered & died as a regular feature, until I sprayed carb cleaner in the butterfly valve area & thouroughly wiped everything clean. Give it a try.

Ron.

Maybe frozen fuel lines? Try some drygas. It can't hurt.

Oh, and WB.

Ron,
You left out the part about the random squirrel parts that also had to clear the system

Wow, thanks for welcoming me back everybody!

Okee....

- Clear out squirrel parts : CHECK

- Drygas : uhhhhh.....

- Throttle & butterfly valve : ummmm.....

I don't know what you mean but okay

I'm thinking what I REALLY need to do is just get a 2nd car and only drive the MA5T3R on weekends. Unfortunately, right now I only have enough money to get the timing belt & brakes done, so I can't get another car 'till probably June. There's this little voice in the back of my mind urging me to sell sell sell my SVX because it's sucking the life out of my bank account & stock options but I can't bring myself to do it.....

I know the thought has crossed my mind a few times in the past, but then I remembered my only goal in life.....

TO RULE THE WORLD

oops....hehehe...no one really need to know that

I don't think I could ever sell it....in fact I'm always looking for another SVX to JOIN ME IN RULING THE WORLD!

*cough*
