suggested exhaust system
I have some rusting and leaking in the exhaust pipe after the cat convertor where it bolts into the Y pipe. The metal flanges of thepipe are delaminating at the donut gasket and the system is much louder than it should be, it sort of sounds like one of these rice burners nowadays with the big 4" mufflers out the back. What new exhaust would one suggest or can I just replace the section from the manifold to the Y pipe with the cat included?
AND what is best price and place to get it? thanks fellers Tdog |

same exact thing happened to me
You're right, it sounds horrible but I got it fixed. I found a local exhaust place and what we did was to cut out all 3 of the stock subaru cats and replaced the 2 small cats with high flow cats from a mustang and then they welded together a new Y fitting with a piece of flexible pipe.
When it was all said and done not only did it fix my exhaust problem but it increased the flow of my exhaust a lot! My SVX runs ten times better now. The shop was able to do the entire job for $300. I would highly recommend it. If you want more specifics feel free to IM me and I'll tell you more and i think i have some pics that i could show you as well of the job. Let me know. ~Ray

Yeah, what Ray said
Dayle has some good deals on high flow cats and resonators - go with the 2.5" size! -Bill
