transmission rebuild kits
I was wondering if anyone knows of a supplier of transmission rebuild kits for the 4eat. My car has a dead tranny but I have found another a one at a local yard that I believe to be in good shape being that it was "destroyed by an ex " as the owner of the yard put it. Not a pretty site but still many useful parts mostly mechanical. P.S. it looks like she stood on the roof and repeatedly threw a rock on each panel and all the windows

Rebuild kit
I am in the process of doing the same thing! Tranny is out and I'm tearing into it tomorrow!
There was a post a while back mentioning a source with great success. It's : www.bulkparts.com. They have a 'rebuild kit' that's about $225.00. I have also sourced a 'kit' from a local trans parts supply house here in Denver. It's pricing is about $240. Don't forget the torque converter, etc. My Denver source wants $195. for an exchange t. converter. As a comparison, I spoke w/ Level 10 last Friday. Comparable 'parts kit', $495., t. converter, $395. and valve boby mod, $695. Supposedly their parts kit is made-up of "absolutely top quality parts". I don't know how to really compare their 'kit' to others. We have all read how 'good' Level 10's trans are, so who knows. Hope this helps! mile-hi-bri |
