Well I emailed the seller to give a plug for nwsvx.com and at the same time asked about the paint job.

He said the paint job is NOT custom, it came that way!

So that, combined with the what he says in the auction about buying the car new, means lots of you are wrong!

Just kidding, I guess there are some rarities that can slip through even our extensive sieve of SVX knowledge. Maybe a special option, limited model, etc.

Now PLEASE don't everyone start emailing the seller trying to dig into this further, he is sticking by his story so all we should do, if anything, is try to find out what this model or color scheme is. I don't want him to get turned off to our group or anything.

BTW, he did mention that the car was repainted two year ago, but it was all done to original colors. So with an almost new paint job, this car is really beginning to look like quite a good deal.

Some paint jobs would add to the value, and others would bring the value way down. There are lots of different quality paint jobs.

that color combination was NOT available in the US. period.

It was either painted like that, or it was a mixup in Ota City.

Good call on the paint job Earl, if it was a cheaper paint job it may have been better left original. You are sure are chirping in a lot on this one, have you been looking at this car/talking to him about it? Let us in on it, man!

So I've never paid much attention to paint codes and all that, but would there be a paint code that desinates this particular paint job on the overseas cars? Something to compare this one too? I'm just perplexed having 2 opposite sides being so sure they are each right, I need to see some kind of evidence.

Paddlesnz from japan has one in this color combination. I'm PMing him how for a paint code number.

Cool. I've actually been enchanging emails all day with the seller, trying to help him get the heater ducts working.

He insists that his father in law bought it new that way in NM and it has been in their family since.

Like I said though, I've got something going with him and if the auction doesn't go through I'm going to check the car out in person get to the bottom of this. Paul's paint code will be something to help compare it to maybe. Where is the paint code anyway? On the door jamb, in the VIN?

Troy the paint code is on the drivers side spring tower near the firewall on the outside. The code is at the lower left of that label. ..........Jim
