Manual button

I was just wondering if there was any use for this thing. I have never used it since I got my car, and I really don't know what it does. Can anyone tell me how to use it and what it is good for? I tried searching for an answer but all I could find was info about 5-speed conversions.

Check the technical Q&A, there is info about it there. Basically, its supposed to help with traction in slippery conditions, by not using first and holding the gear longer.
