Here's a very valuable book of Knowlage

OK first off, I can't spell for crap.... All of you that have been here for more than a year know that.......

Here is a link to a very good book that I printed off and put together... But this is the origional!!! Check it out, it is action packed with great info on the SVX, for those of you that haven't read about your SVX's before... This book also prooves that there was once a "AWD TURBO" SVX clay model... Although it never made it to production there is a picture of it in there... You can clearly make out the letters "AWD TURBO" benieth the rear window where ours says "Subaru SVX"... Here's the link!!

I have the R&T Guide - many of us do. It is, indeed, very cool.

But it proves nothing in terms of the existence of a turbo SVX. It does show Giugiaro walking around a full-size clay model which has 'turbo' badging. But that's all it is - a clay model.

I've had my SVX now for more than four years, but I researched the cars pretty heavily before I bought it. I've learned everything I've had the chance to. I've searched for every scrap of information I can find. So read this very carefully: I've never seen any solid proof that Subaru ever built a turbo SVX - even as a test vehicle. None of us has. Search as much as you want, but you will never find any such proof. It doesn't exist.

Subaru never built a turbo SVX. Ever.

Ever.

Edit: I just checked the online scans of the R&T Guide. It clearly says in the captions for both of the photos of that 'turbo' model that it's full-scale clay.

And that is as close as Subaru ever got to making a turbo SVX. That's it.

Yeah, you could do that, but then mine wouldn't make any sense. :P

Sorry if I came off as harsh. It's just that, every couple of months, we see the same thing, 'hey, here's proof positive that Subaru made a turbo SVX - I told you so!!!11!!!!1!1!!!'

And it's tiring. I don't know why people insist on believing this 'turbo SVX' myth when there's absolutely zero proof to support it.

I'm sure it's "wishful thinking" just like the TT and the "Production 5-Speed"

Thing I don't understand is why the F*** did they they put that on the side of a clay model if they didn't want to make it?!?!!??! That pisses me off!!! Subaru should have reached down and grab ahold of thier pair of balls and made that thing as a turbo!!! They had the chance to Rule that era of sport cars!!!! They had the idea, but something must have swaed thier thinking!!! That just sucks!!!

Even at the time, they had the tools/technology to get it as a turbo H6 but they never had a tranny to hold that power. Look at our trannies. If the car came turbocharged, we'd loose tranny every 35k miles instead of 70k.
