I don't really understand the whole concept...well, I guess I do, I just don't understand the allure. Ah, well.
I dig the dry ice idea. Dry ice is fun. I was in a class in high school for which we had to make 'gravity cars.' I was going to put wheels on a 20lb stage weight and call it done until the teacher imposed a severe weight limit. Bastard... Huh? My point? Oh! Instead of wheels, I put a body on a thin slab of dry ice (dry ice cut on a bandsaw makes a cool noise) and let it down the track. I had to sweep the gym floor in front of the track first, but that sucker flew. Even after it stopped, it wandered around a little... I played many fun pranks that day with the rest of the dry ice...

put dry ice in a soda bottle (a 1 liter) mix a little bit of water, shake it up and throw it against something hard..like concrete...

I'm trying to think of how you could make your own block of ice, but freeze it around a tunnel that could be pulled, dissolved or otherwise removed later...
...or you could freeze it in halves, torch the mating surfaces, and freeze it together... ...I mean, as I said, I don't understand the whole point, but you could make some wicked long tunnels to pour your alcoholic beverage of choice through... HA! You could even make sure you leave holes in which to insert a neon or flourescent tube! Maybe I've been wrong all this time, and drinking really is fun...

Time to put on the curmudgeon hat...
Dry Ice in a sealed container will explode with FORCE... like a pipe bomb. And that's why it's a felony to do it. I found this out on the FBI's Bomb data web site. other than that I have no experience with that type of thing nope nope nope...Collins My product testing is FUN!

well i finished it this afternoon. i tried to freeze a block of ice overnight (it's been like 10 degrees around here) but it didn't work out, so i drove an hour and paid $50 for a 300lb block.. i cut it in half on the diagonal today and then used some chisels to carve a "luge" into it.. it turned out pretty good.. there's so much more i could do, but it was frikkin' cold outside and i was working next to a 300 pound brick of ice, so i was only able to get so creative.. anyway, with luck the party'll be a rip-roaring success. thanks to all for the input and advice
