Those are beautiful.

You should submit them to the SVXer putting the calendar together if it's not too late.

JLittlell - Yeah, the laying on the ground pic is one of my favorites. I don't think it is necessary to get the entire car into every shot. Plus, I think it makes it a little unique.

Kelli - Thx! I'm a Flash Web Developer, so taking pictures has become one of the tricks of the trade, I suppose.

Noir - I'm from Stone Mountain, GA on the Gwinnett County side, in the Parkview district near Smoke Rise.

LarryIII - I hope the person doing the Calendar still has room for one more pic. I've got all of my SVX w/ scenic backdrop images in ultra high-res, so any picture he/she uses should look great. (If you're reading this, give me your email and I'll send you the hi-res version for the calendar)

Arondale,

I have a Minolta 35 mm camera systm and usually shoot Kodachrome 25.
I was very impressed by the resolution of your photos. Please tell me the make and model of the digital camera that you used.

Thank you.

The camera is a 3.2 megapixel Olympus 3040 (http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/spec...oly_c3040z.asp). I love it so much I'm buying an Olympus 5060, which is similar but is over 5 megapixels and is a wide angle, since I take a lot of scenery shots on my hiking trips in the Smokies. It is better than the Canon G5 variant b/c it is lighter and delivers the same if not better picture quality. The batteries are also custom in the G5, which is not good if you are going on trips and do not have access to an outlet (such as on a hike). The Olympus takes lithium rechargable (or not) AAs.

If you are looking for a new camera, check out www.dpreview.com, which is the best website for reviewing digis. If you want the quality of pics I took, don't make the mistake of getting a tiny high megapixel camera. The lens on those things are about the size of your pinky. My 3.2 outperforms my friends 4.0 that is more compact. The reason is b/c my 3.2 has a larger aperature (about the size of a half dollar coin) which allows more light. So, think about getting a larger aperature camera with and sacrifice a little megapixels. Afterall, the megapixel rating is not the only spec. of the camera that makes it perform.

Hi everyone, Arondale, nice job. No wonder you had to drive 120mph. To make up for all the time you spent taking pictures. I have a Fuji With 3.1 mega-pixels. I haven't used it enough to feel comfortable with it. I do have my eye on the new Pentax ist-D. A digital SLR that would take all of my old K-mount lenses. Larry III, Minolta has a new digital SLR that you could do the same thing with. The only thing besides the camera body you would need, would be a short focal length lens better suited to the image sensor whigh is smaller than 35mm film is. Take care and keep clicking, BOBB

i got ya arondale. well if you ever want to hang out with some crazed subbie folks drop us a line. some frequent subbie enthusists (wrx, svx) meet up once a week or every other week in decatur. recently it's been at 'james joyce irish pub'.

good macallan, good ribs, good people, and excellent crowd of people there. very diverse. they normally meet there on wednesday....or was it thursday? oh well. it's trivia night there on one of the two mentioned days.
