I hope I'm getting this right...

The tranny turns without the motor,
The motor turns without the tranny,

Put them together and no turn. It's GOT to be a mating problem. Somthing is binding and pulling the motor isn't going to help

ww11 the transmsion is away from thh engine,

huck we look and inspected the conecting rods we took the oil pan off and they all where turning there was no metal shaving or pieces that drained from the oil ether.

huck would it still hyro lock if he spun all 4 cams, wouldnt that open it up the valves, he said all 4 cams turned, and it did not jump timing

If one of the cylinders is full of fluid, on the compression stroke of the motor, it would cause the motor to lock, as both valves are closed at that point....but if you pull the spark plugs that would let it flush out the fluid as it turned over, then re-install the plugs and it should start back up....of course you need to find out where the fluid came from in the first place....

Hope you get it worked out soon, I really don't think it will turn out to be anything big, I'll have my fingers crossed for you,

That was my thought, too. I had the same problem when I installed my tranny.

Are the following observations all correct ? : -

(1) " the engine is away from the transmissin " --- The engine will not turn when in no way connected with the transmission.

(2) The connecting rods turn " they all were turning ". --- The crankshaft will not turn ??????

(4) You have witnessed and confirmed the above and are not relying on simply what you have been told.

(5) A " mechanic/technition " can not find out why an internal combustion engine will not rotate and he is asking to be paid for his skill !

Hi Phil,

I saw your post and wanted to comment on it. The SVX, like the EJ22T of the same vintage, uses hydraulic lifters. Therefore, no lifter shims.

re: hey solar

hey solarsvx, i hope that you are getting a good rate from that mechanic. it doesn't sound like that mechanic is treating you right. not returning calls and going on vacations without working something out with you. hope all goes well man. i'd be pissed if i were in your shoes.
