Guys here have 5-speeds in their SVX and it only gets them into the 15's and that's with 4.11 gears.
it is 300lbs less than the SVX, and its the *235 ft\lbs* that gets it moving. hp sells cars, torque wins races.

EVERYBODY PLEASE STOP.

WHAT IS BEING DISCUSSED IS THE NEW '04 US MARKET FORESTER XT.

It contains a detuned version of the BRAND NEW motor found in the '04 USDM STi.

Specs are as follows:

2.5L displacement, DOHC
AVCS variable valve timing
Semi-closed deck block
Sodium filled valves
Direct Ignition, Iridium Plugs
Power: 210hp @ 5600rpm
Torque: 235lb/ft @ 3600rpm

Standing quarter mile: 13.8 seconds.

They had to do significant work to this motor to reduce the performance so that it wouldn't abjectly destroy the WRX in an objective test of speed. I foresee this motor being put in the WRX in the next model year. It is already scheduled for release in both the Baja Turbo and the all-new Legacy Turbo (B4) next year.

I'll keep you guys updated on our project Forester XT... It's sitting right outside my office right now. An STi intercooler and catless up-pipe will be going in in just a few weeks. A JDM Forester STi v2 suspension is also in the works, unless I can get something even better from JIC in the near future.

-Porter

P.S. - This thing is fast!

I drove one the other day (the turbo) while I was having a inside door panel replaced on the Legacy. It was auto and still in "break in" so I didn't run it to hard (someone is going to buy it and i don't want to be the a$$hole beating on it first) but it was definitely quick, slight turbo lag but nothing to complain about. I'll say this...after the drive I wouldn't mind swapping the Legacy back for that Forester. The interior was alot nicer and even seemed a little roomier, and it really had the get up and go that the one i used to have was missing.

whoever said that the forester is unaerodynamic is smoking crack

the forester is the most aerodynamic subaru currently being sold, second of all time only to the svx...

the car is faster than the wrx every place that has tested has found the same

the car handles like a normal forester, there is no tuned suspension it's the same squishy mushy suspensi8on that is in the base foresters

The XT is the most aerodynamic car Subaru ever sold. The SVX is second.

only the xt6 is second to the svx in the aerodynamic coefficient department. im talking about the xt coupe not the forester. its at about .29 coef. of drag with the svx at .28
im sure the forester is at about .31 minimum.
a scoop would blunt air flow as well.
H6 power!

Significant Technical Input Registered SVX
The 85-91 XT Coupe = .29
The SVX = .29

No way a Forester can be close...it's to tall

I was talking about the original XT (wedge-mobile).

The Forester XT has the older WRX STi 5 speed transmission. It is completely different from the other foresters.

What are you calling a wedge there Mike? I'll have my XT beat up your RX . The XT was the most aerodynamic production car made when it came out in 85. I think Huck is right about the SVX being equal to it. I think I remembered reading an article about that when the SVX came out. Something to the effect that even with all the SVX's great lines it still manages the same co. as the angular and homely XT.

i dont think the XT4 is homely. its as homely as the XT6, which isnt unnappealing at all.
.35 drag on the FXT - thought id save everyone the reading.
i think the svx was .28 without the spoiler. i may be wrong.

you know what im thinking...
the fxt is being released with the H6 outback.
kinda like lovechilds of the XT turbo and the XT6 respectively.
maybe the legacy will get a 3.3 or better?
