No, not really...

...I figured times would be of no interest since I didn't run the SVX, but the best was a 17.5 at 83. That was 1.5 and 7 mph slower than Automobile Magazine's test...

Lots of fun anyway!

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm ALWAYS interested in times.

That does seem kinda slow. The funny thing, however, is it could actually be a pretty quick car and get what you think of as slow times. Makes me REALLY wonder what it would feel like to ride (or drive) a 10 sec. car... or heck, top fuel hittin' 300 mph by the end of the quarter.

I'm always interested in times so I can feel secure saying, Ya I can beat that. 17.5 ouch, I saw a PT Cruiser run that at the track last year.

Talking

I can blame myself for the slowness. Being my daily driver now, I was probably too easy off the line with the car....but heck, it WAS my first time!

I was as nervous as a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs....(Tennessee Ernie Ford)

I hope to know that feeling.....in about 6 years. The car has a long way to go, but it can be done. Thats if I can manage to get traction.....

It DOES look like it, doesn't it? What is that, and what in the world are you planning on doing to it? I take it lots of internal work on a pretty "nasty" engine transplant... and some SERIOUS forced induction plans.

Is that your MR2? If so it sould be light enough but it will still take some serious motor work.

Ohhh woops, I didn't notice your sig line. Sorry about the accord comment.

Neat car, but I don't think you can get that body style into the 10s without a LOT of money.....

I plan of forcing it by sheer power into the 10s. I am planning on a MK1.5 conversion, which means taking the MK2 Turbo MR2 motor and putting it in the back of the MK1 MR2. Good for about 245 HP in a car with originally 112. The 3SGTE is good for I think around 600+ HP. The MK1 needs only about 450 to the wheels to break into the high 10s. Slap on a BFT, build the engine up and go with a standalone EMS and it should be there.

The car is going to be a major sleeper, looking 99% stock with full interior. The front end is torn apart right now to try and get the rusty parts off of the body as its going to be put through alot of stress once its fully built up. I also plan on going with the full treatment- suspension, brakes, ETC so it will be an all around race car.

Price you ask? All said and done out the door probably about $20k. Having a car that will deliver 10s reliably and be one of the fastest MR2s? Priceless. I'm hoping to execute this so well that it could be daily driven, as my goal is to win the USCC in about 6 years if its still around. My only concern is aerodynamics which shouldnt be a problem, and getting traction, which should be a big problem.

Yeah... I would think you'd have HELLA traction problems.... :\

Should be fun though. Modding things that aren't normally modded is cool.

The 3sGTE motor is inherantly weak when boosted from stock settings. The 3S drops cylinders likeyo uwouldnt believe, i would find a differnt motor that fits. A 10 second MR2 while being very possible would require a new short block every few runs, the engine is part of the reason the mr2 project was dropped.
