Talking Latest ebay find...

Most creative use of pinstripes

Just saw this one today, might be old news to a lot of you. This auction is a bit confusing to me, although in the end it might be a good deal so I don't mean to bring it down or anything.

First thing that jumps out at me is the STRIPES! I'm sure there are mixed feelings on those, but you have to admit it is a unique placement of them. Oh but no worries, in the seller's exact words: "they are takeoffable".

So did the "1 owner" "old lady" put these pin stripes on? The way he adds the part about the new tires and stripes at the end makes me think maybe he did that. So wouldn't it be a 2 owner car at that point? Or did he think adding the stripes would help raise the selling price?

Also, what is up with the license plate? Did the 1 owner old lady add that on, or did she import the car over, or did the seller add that on for fun?

And what the heck is a Subary? That name is used twice in the auction, once in the title and once in the description.

Again, I don't want to prevent bids on this auction or anything, especially if the seller is a member here, but this gave me a good laugh and then started to raise some questions.

Pin stripes

Boy that sure looks faster than my SVX! I'll bet they add at least 50bhp.

is it just me, or do backwards front wheels seem to be running rampant lately? Or is it the latest fad??

Those are racing stripes, not pinstripes.

Pinstripes are usually no more than 1/4" wide.

My estimate is 75 HP added through the use of stripes.

i dunno guys.. i'm probably going to catch some flak for this, especially because i like to consider myself a man of good taste..

but i kinda like those stripes.. they seem to add to the car's natural flow instead of disrupt it..

i'm sure a lot of you will disagree with me, but hey, to each his own, right?

What about the little stripes next to the big ones, do those count as pin?

I wonder how they are takeoffable, can you just peel them off? I like the neologism, "removable" just doesn't sound as interesting.

Would it be wrong to say that I actually like the stripes on the front?

They look weird on the back, but they look pretty good on the front. *shrug*

as racing stripes go they're not bad
wouldn't put them on my car, but they don't look as bad as most

it's interesting how the stripes line up at the edge of the front grille and go presumably straight back and end up where they are
