Huck, here's a thought...put it into an SVX. Less weight=better handling plus after market parts are readily available and relatively inexpensive for the motor and you can easily crank it up to 400+HP! All with a strong, proven reliable genuine Subaru engine.

Well, whadaya think??? Wink, wink, nudge, nudge...say no more, say no more...

First, Adam, I'll keep you in mind if I go with the XT6.

Johnny,
I just don't think it would have the torque needed to haul the SVX around with the authority it would in either the XT6 or the Outback Sport, that and if I did it would ruin my plans of a supercharged 3.3 (when I hit the Lotto )

I still like the the idea of putting it the XT6.
But (correct me if I'm wrong) the motor won't bolt up to the XT6 tranny? You would have to change the crossmember on either car to clear the turbo up-pipe, but easier to find one out of a turbo XT/Loyal than one from a WRX.

I'm just not sure about the XT6 layout, as I have never got to inspect one personally, but It looks like the 2.7 is based on the 1.8 using the same bellhousing style. I know the XT6 uses a 2bolt front strut unlike the XT but isn't an XT6 basically an XT with a 2.7 init?

You're correct, the XT6 is basically an XT with a 2.7 in it, old style bell housing, but heavier duty axles and a different core support.

I can handle the bell housing by making an adapter plate to mate them, not sure if I'll have to change the crossmember or not, but one for an XT turbo, shouldn't be to hard to come across.

Either car will require some fab work, and a lot of time. but, hey, I've got to put it into something.....and it won't fit on either of my bikes
