? about valve gaskets

I am going to have both valve cover gaskets replaced and my mechanic is saying parts are going to run around $525, that is for gaskets and spark plugs. Because i have not had it done before i don't know if that is high or about right. If it seems a little high can anyone suggest somewhere to get parts cheaper.

As for my previous rev up prob, it was a combo for PVC valve and my overdrive sensor was malfuntioning. All better now. that to eveyone on your inut :

It was cold in Phoenix today about 80

Parts should be about $50 for the valve cover gaskets, and about $65 for the spark plugs.
Definitely not $525, unless he was quoting the labor too.

Call Liberty Subaru at 201-261-0900 and tell them you're an internet customer to get better rates.

check out www.subaruparts.com

all 6 gaskets = $56
8 rubberseals = $16
6 spark plugs= $57 (6 x $9.53)

$525 for labor would be about right, but not parts.

Man I'm going to have to start my own business doing just spark plugs and valve cover gaskets! I could make a killing even if I only charged half that labor rate.

I had the valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, timing and acc. belts, and front seals replaced all for ~$1050 at the not-so-local Subaru dealer. If that's any help
