RE: Place to buy parts
Hello Everyone,
Hope everything is well with you all. I just recently found a mechanic that may be decent to work on my SVX. He could not find parts from his vendors but can work on the SVX if I can order the parts. I found vendors from this site that has some parts that I need, but I could not find one for bearings. Anyone know a good source for bearings? I went to subaruparts.com but could not find bearings. Also how about creating a topics for parts vendors for people who have had good experiences with certain vendors to make it easier to find good vendors for parts. Take care! |

Liberty Subaru Oradell, NJ; 201-261-7495 They ship UPS. Ask for the Car and Driver 25% discount. I also think the east distribution center is in Atlanta.

for used parts, I stand by www.car-parts.com it connects you to a huge array of used parts, some expensive, others very cheap.. I found a rear wiper motor for $35 and a driver's-side window switch cluster for $50.. of course, when you buy things used (or as my father likes to say: "pre-owned"), you never quite know what you're getting into.. of course, most of us bought used cars.. well, whatever

re: liberty
thx! liberty subaru rocks. they everything in stock except for the front axles. they are very helpful in telling you what else you need (i.e. seals and gaskets) and quantity. with the 25% off the price is the equivalent for subaruparts.com and they said there is a 1 year warranty for parts. thx for the great connection!

I believe there is an axle rebuilder near you. Mr. Pockets has the info, or you can do a search on Axles. Sorry I can't remember the details, but, (if I recall correctly) you send them your axles, they rebuild them and send them right back. A two day turnaround, which is about what you'd spend waiting for new parts to be shipped.

Found it:
From Mr. Pocket's post: I found a place in Ocala (www.cvaxles.com) which would rebuild my axle for $55 and ship it back the same day they got it. Here's the whole thread, if you need some specs: http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...t=Axle+rebuild
