Re: does this happen to anyone else?

You want uncomfortable try driving my 1st and 2nd cars 1950 Dodge 4door meadow brook and a1956 Chevy Covertabile with the plasic seats. Why people want to drive the old cars amazes me.

You may not have arthritis, but strengthening your knees/legs with exercise couldnt hurt.
I have a feeling this may be possible because i used to do track and i did the worst event for your knees, the triple jump. Also arthritis seems to run in my family.

Re: does this happen to anyone else?

I have 3 completely different Subaru's.
85 Brat
89 RX
92 SVX

The most comfortable one to drive is my Brat. The seats have been swapped with a pair from a late 80's Mitsu Eclipse. The RX has almost the same seats but from a turbo eclipse. It takes me about 15mi or 1/2hr to get my arse adjusted right in these because of the higher side bolsters (No I'm not fat).
The SVX drivers seat cushions have been swapped from a spare passenger seat I had and its like a new seat. Its hard as a rock and puts my butt and right leg to sleep

Old fart checking in. The only cars that I drive that doesn't 'hurt' me is the Subi's with heated seats.
When I'm having a 'bad back' day, I've been known to sleep in a Subi! Lumbar support cranked all the way, heat on high!! That gets me past the back pain. Never really had a problem with knees from a Subi.
I usually take the 'Long way' home...
In a bus, I've had to sit there for a while to get the legs to 'work' again before climbing out of them.

Re: does this happen to anyone else?

Years ago, I was told that a wallet can cause leg problems. My 'skinney' wallet has been in my front pocket for 15 years. It hurts more now than ever before! The only thing in my back pocket since then is a comb!
