Maybe we could do half the route then stop for something to eat, then continue the last half back to the hotel.

John, you do realize that May is the beginning of the tourist season in Lancaster County. The route of the proposed Berks tour is pretty much all highway through one of PAs worst cities to drive in for conditions, enviroment and sanity. I wouldn't try to lead a single car through this route let alone more and I was in Reading yesterday.

I agree with him 100%. I went through tourist country yesterday and it sucked. Imagine it in a month

I defer to the current experts here. I can't believe it was Reading III (back in 2002) when we did the tour. Ans that was in April!

It was a very relaxing and uncrowded experience; A lot has changed in 9 years.

Oh, well...

Hindsight isn't always 20-20 John, or you were in the front. Sure some roads were great but the major intersections were a cluster #@*& if you were towards the back. Hence the reason for moving away from a group tour towards a rally set up.

The routes you have chosen here are major roads is such disrepair and lack of anything but urban sprawl that no one who drives 'em wants to be on them except to get from point a to point b.

There are plenty of nice roads in the area that could be suitable but it does take a bit of effort and driving them on a similar day to come up with a route. A 5 hour trek on highways and major routes through the city of Reading is comparable to taking a group of cars through the DC beltway.

I resemble that remark.
I was the one who ran the Covered Bridge Tour at Reading III.
The funniest part was when a group of SVXes were following me on rte. 30 and another group of SVXes approached going the other way on the same road.

Benebob, bet you look back on that now and a big grin appears on your face.

I know you did Larry and it was a great drive... only the more times you cheat fate, the more likely fate will win. I'd hate to be the one who organizes a drive and someone hurts their baby or themselves!
