Putting in Remote Starter

I'm putting in a remote starter, got a couple questions.

1. The system uses a hood pin and was wondering where would the best place to mount it be? I was thinking right next to the bushing on the front of the hood. Or close to the edge of the strut tower. Or any other place tha would be good.

2. I had known I have a "mysterious" security system in my car, and while underneath the dash noticed there's a black Viper alarm computer box thing. I was wondering if the remote start will still work with it in the car. I don't want to take the Viper alarm out because I don't want to mess something up with the wiring. I can disconnect it and see if that works when it's finished.

I can't wait to get this finished so I won't have to sit in a cold car for 15minutes before I start driving it.

Gmm...mount the pin somewhere on the radiator support, otherwise you're drilling through the fender, and sevral layers of strong stuff. Near the bushing is good, just like you had said.

You already have at least one upper hand for winter driving comfort....Non-leather seats. MAN cold leather sucks...so does really hot leather. Coming from experiance, them suede seats are super cozey in the winter

Got everything installed and hooked up. When I insert the 30a fuse for the power wire, the fuse blows. I'm trying to "initialize" the unit so it will work, but when I do that nothing happens cuz the fuse blew. I'm completely stumped as to why the fuse keeps blowing, it will probably be something stupid that I forgot to hookup or whatever. I need help please!!!!!

Edit, the fuse only blows when I turn the control/valet switch on. I still have no idea what is going on in that thing and messing with it only makes me madder. I have to cool off for a little bit

I got too mad at the thing and decided to stop with the remote start altogether. I'm just gonna try and get a replacement remote for the Viper alarm I "found" when installing the remote start.
