I hear stage three makes the best turbo's...they are 1 fast4r...

Seriously dude...Read up on the ecutune threads...Get some motor knowlege goin', and try to figure out for yourself how much horsepower you can make. personally, id rather say I tuned the engine and got an extra 50 horsepower over the design the ENGINEERS came up with, rather than say I decuded to swap in a tried and true 50 year old chevy small block...which was desined by the hillbillies of yesteryear...And then have to say I actually paid someone else to tune it

This is all very interesting, and it seems that we have this question from time to time from relatively new folks on the network.
But that said, it does raise some very interesting possibilities. Even Jay Leno took the body of a 1955 Buick and placed it on a C5 Corvette running gear, complete. I read where he loved to take this creation to the canyons and agrivate the heck out of the Porsche drivers who could not lose a 1955 Buick on their tail through the turns and straights. Of course, Jay also has a jet powered motorcycle he had built....... Talk about "if money was no problem" ....

All this is fun to talk about and speculate about - we all do it in "shop talk" and general car BS sessions. Don't be too hard on the originator of the thread. Let's just have fun with the thought.

BTW, as for myself, I would prefer to leave the SVX as is, however, I don't think there is even one among us that would not like an additional 100 - 150 HP under the hood of our SVX!!

Harry

As a very much non-gm fan I still have to hold my fingers up for your ignorance.

I'm assuming a beefier transmission would be necessary too. What would the total job cost?
Tranny cooler, valve body job (Level 10 if possible) and nitrous. PoweredX2 (Is this right) used nitrous and was able to get his auto SVX into the low 13's. Have fun!!!

For my part , right now we are swaping an engine cause mine is 300 k km . We'll rebuild it completely with the new stock from ECu tune : cams , super charger , pistons , ect . while doing this , 2fast will redo the entire body in carbon fiber ( hood , doors , trunk , ect .... ) I'll expect that to be betwen 30,000 $ and 34,000 $ for now . will post a new thread with photos of the first all carbon SVX . will weight it after . will be finished by end september - october . Already put 6000$ in it this spring ( new brakes , radiator , ect )

the best mine'll do if i ever get it running right might be 15 flat in the 1/4 mile....
(4.44 gears help!)
thats SOME weight reduction to an svx toget it to do a 14 sec HALF mile .........

1/4 mile Rob, 1/4 mile. Although I wish it was a half mile I'm sure that once we get the clutch declutching when you wanna shift and our 22 inch diameter tires on there it should be into the 13s on a warm summer day. All that with a paper airfilter and a tired oil burning 150k motor.

Why not a simple valve body job and modified torque converter (ProTorque)? I think you could reach at least 14.5 with these mods.

Ok, so we've verified that we can't put a v8 into the svx.

So... If cost is no object;

What about this inline 10?

What about this inline 12?

^^Over 100,000 HP at 101.5rpm!^^

I know the engine bay of the svx is a little small, but i'm sure we could find a way to shoe-horn it in with a bit of fabrication...
