Penny used to get 29-31 on pure hwy miles, but in the last couple of years that has dropped to 26-28. In town, daily driving, she's steady at 21.

Definitely still beats my new daily driver at 14.

Hubby's nearly 20-yr old Ranger GT (manual) still gets over 20 on the hwy.

BUT.... the Harley got 51.9 today!

500mi round trip from Philly to Ct this weekend and got a little over 26.5MPG on 93 octane averaging about 75MPH.

Best I can hope for with normal local driving is 20MPG!

Inside my gas tank door, it says use premium gas only, which i would think would be 91+ octane. Currently i'm putting 87 in. Would it increase milage/performance/quality to use the 91+?

Not only would it increase your gas mileage, it will also reduce carbon build-up and help keep the cars systems cleaner from the gas tank to the exhaust. Are you not experiencing octane knock using such a low grade of gas? If I ran anything but high octane in my car it would be knocking like a girlscout with a wagon full of cookies.

No knock, my mx-6 did that if i ever ran 87 octane in it. I keep free from carbon build-up by periodically running it a bit harder than normal, to blow it out.

Mpg

Went on a 10000 mile road trip 2 years ago. Covered ID, OR, CA, AR, NM, TX, OK, AR, TN, MS, AL, FL, MO, KS, CO, WY, NV and back to ID. Did 28+MPG. Will never forget it. Best road trip ever. Only my drive axle broke in Wyoming. Still it was great.

Been driving the silver car daily while awaiting arrival of sway bar bushings for the teal. Topped-off this morning and she held 4.04 gallons, having traveled 78.9 miles, for 19.52 MPG. That's better than I've been getting in the teal, around town.

Of course, all this assumes the odometer reads correctly...

from a 17 gallon fillup, I can get around 330 miles, more if I run out the tank.
