I wonder, purely in the name of horsepower, what you could get with a BIG blower on that thing? or two big blowers...

That was what I was initially thinking. You'll get "yourself killed".

But then I thought, you'd have to be some kind pro to even get the tires to hook up to get going anywhere.

No, different car. The Super snake is a real Cobra. Only 2 were ever made. 1 for Shelby himself, and the other one origionally went to Cosby, but he returned it. The Cosby car was total in a wreck and rebuilt by the A/C people and now sits in there museum. The Shelby car had the origional motor destroyed. It was bought by some star. The IRS went after the guy and he took off to Canada. The car disappeared for about 10 or 20 years before the IRS located it in a storage ben and confiscated it. It was auctioned off by the government for over 100K.

The Super Cobras used a 428 Cobrajet engine with supercharging to make the 800HP. I've heard it used twin superchargers.

So this one that sold for millions does not even have the original motor?

It was interesting to see the old photos the guy found from many years ago in the links, thanks for that Crusader.

And sorry to see the trouble he and his wife are having with his wife's surgery after a bad accident. I wish them well.

I take it back. If Carroll Shelby can drive 800hp and live to 84, then we all should have one!

Joe

Point well taken. Many hats over the decades have been taken off to Mr Shelby and hsi ability as a car builder and a car driver.

The remark was meant to be a little tongue in cheek, Rob.

Do we have a tongue in cheek smiley?

Joe
