Help with Purchase/Value Decision: '95 LSi

I'm looking at a '95 Burgundy LSi w/tan leather interior. 115k miles, same owner for 11 years, most maintenance records. Timing belt and rear bearings done. Runs/drives nice, interior clean and nice, BUT paint on hood and roof oxidized beyond hope, needs front CV boots and at least one axle, windshield cracked (low on pass. side, probably will still pass inspection), tranny shifts well but has never had an aux. cooler installed, minor damage to front bumper cover, a few other nicks and dings.

The seller wants $4500 OBO... deal or no deal?

I agree that you can probably find a better deal. For that price the car should be in top mechanical shape.

I just spent $6500 on a 92 LSi with 55,000 miles. It's almost perfect outside and is completely perfect inside and mechanically. It even came with the original window sticker .

For a car in that condition (without actually seeing it), my gut reaction is offer him/her $3000 or even $2800. It's a buyers market right now, they may take it.

For that price the car should be in top mechanical shape with fewer miles. As we all know, the windshield alone will set you back over $1000. The ONLY thing it has going for it is that it is a 95 versus a 92. If it were a "green" 95 that would even cancel that advantage.
