Retrofitting Central Locking Switch

Has anyone retrofitted a central locking switch from a 93 or newer to a pre-93? What parts would be needed besides the switch and the shifter bezel? Is the lock relay different? I have access to a '94 parts car and I rarely lock the doors on my '92 because the door locks are in such an inconvenient location. Adding central locking would be nice.

my guess is maybe u can reroute the power or connect the switch in line with the current locking system,so when u trigger the lock switch it should close the circuit, and you will still have the other way of locking it at the door(someone please double check with this). you can also trace the wiring and check if theres relays or any fuses connected to the circuit, or better yet check a wiring schematic.

It is really a pain in the butt location, my dad was like wheres the lock switch i said there, he said what kind of design is that , i also have a 94 and it was so much easier, let me know if you go on with the experiment, i might be next!!
