transmission clucking

1994 svx fwd need to change tranny i read other posting mostly taking about awd i need to know what year and model trannys i can use i found somewhere that 90-98 legacy and 91-97 impreza would swap in. not really worried about if it is 4.11 or 4.44 please help.

Yes either of those will go in. Being front wheel drive, you can fit any ratio that you want.

As a secondary issue, you should take into account that you could be involved in modifying the effective calibration of your speedometer.

Speedo won't be affected by a ratio change, as it is driven at wheel speed, from the front diff.
