Actually, DOCUMENT everything!!! Usually, the first engine is on the house. Then they claim it was your fault (i.e. neglect, racing etc.). Just warning ya. Its a beautiful car to drive (although way to tight for me). Toyota has just been having bad luck in recent years.

So what did he say about the SVX?

Yeah, I read or saw someting recently about a guy who'd "lovingly restored" a old Ford Fairlane. Thing is, it had a Chevy 350 and a Mustang front suspension. That's not a restoration; that's a kit car. Not to diminish the craftsmanship; it's not something I could do, but that's just an incorrect usage of the term.

When I go to car shows, I want to see originality, both in the car and in the thinking of its owner. Folks should try an insanely radical approach to restoring old iron, like using something other than a cookie-cutter powertrain. If it's the same make as the car, hey, that would be a start.

(Can you tell I don't like Chevrolet?)

That it's not popular enough to become a classic.

Registered SVX Classic SVX
Tell him to blow it out his ass. In 10 years when the current population of SVXi is cut in half he could try and tell us it's not a classic. This car is like a one off for subaru and they seem to be the most wanted in the future. I feel the SVX may become a very rare gt and appreciation will come with exposure to the auto community on a more possitive note. SVXi are doomed to trans failure and no one can seem to look past that except for us. I kinda get tired of people telling me my car is a pile and it will end up like the rest in a junk yard... As many of u know, that will never happen to my car as I will replace anything as many times as neccesary(3 engines 2 transmissions and a crap load of other parts)
