Wiper changing?

Ok, I'm not even going to attempt it untill someone tells me the easiest way to change the wipers... Mine are shot from the winter and i already bought the replacements but i honestly don't know where to start, someone always changed them for me but now i need to do it myself.... Any suggestions?

Jen

Do you have an auto Zone or a Parts America? I bought a set of silicon wiper blades for my 92 2 years ago I paid $12.00 each for them ( carefull they are not the same driverside is longer ) it was harder for me , but being a girl all you have to do is look cute and ask if they can show you how to change them . These are the best blades I ever bought.

If memory serves the end of your wiper arm should look like a j around a pin in the blade(unless your just doing the rubber) there wi8ll be a pin at the back/bottom of this j that you have to push up to release the blade and then you generally have to push or pull kinda hard to get it on or off. If you doing rubber only then there should be two shiny parts at one ned of it squeese those and pull off. BTW measurements should be 22"driver 20"pass. 18"?rear

Well, if you break something, it'll likely be the plastic wiper blade and not the metal arm.

Yeah, go ahead and break it (unless you only have refills and not an entire blade). You're not going to do anything to the arm itself.

Changing Wiper Blades

Hi everyone, I think Jen was talking about like breaking a nail. On her finger. OK! Well Jen, if you put the wipers in winter mode you can lift the arms to the vertical position. Look at the center portion and you will see a little plastic piece with a tab sticking out. Push the tab up and pull down on the entire blade. The blade should slide out of the hook on the end of the arm. To replace, hook the hook at the end of the arm over the center plastic piece and push towards the end of the blade till you hear it click in. You should find brief instructions on the blade packaging. After youve done this you can flaunt your mechanical talant. Take care, BOBB
