where can i get a tranny rebuilt?

to any of you in the western NY area do you know any shops that are good and not really expensive to have svx trannys rebuilt? and to everyone else, what have you paid to have a tranny rebuilt? thanks

I don't like to be the bearer of bad news..but the going price is about 3 grand, more or less. Your not to far from Level 10 in New Jersey, they have rebuild kits for 500 or so, and if you remove and replace the tranny yourself, then have someone else build it you can save quite a bit, good luck

My car's tranny was rebuilt by aamco (3k $) right before I bought it, then again 9 months later under warrantee, which took a month (and then resealed for 1k $ not under warrantee 6 months later). I really don't recommend them!
