Here today gone tommorow

My trans died yestarday while on the highway... I've have my subaru for about a month till it crapped out on me...

I need a trans. But whats new everyone needs a trans

Let me know where to go i'm in the northeast.

If you got the money and do not want to screw around with getting it fixed several times and if you can leave it at the dealer for awhile, try Liberty Subaru in Oradell, NJ (201-261-7495 parts). Tell them you saw the ad in Car & Driver for 25% off parts. They will tell you they can't discount a re-maned tranny that much but will do something. Insist they put all new gaskets in the exhaust. Tell them to cut and bend the heat shield on the common CAT and not to break it. You may also need a tranny mount. The warrantee is for 2 that is TWO years and includes EVERYTHING from the front diff to the back end of the transmission. Liberty only does Subaru's, nothing else.

Or you you could try the risky, more fun, less costly path of putting in a used Legacy tranny complete with rear ring and pinion from a 4.11 set-up and make yourself a screeming fast gas guzzler. Subafreak has done this recently for someone.
