Sonatas....

Wow, I just checked out ItalDesign and was surprised to see that Giugiaro designed the '88 Hyundai Sonata. I actually HAD one of those (well, it was an '89). It was nice at the time, but quickly deteriorated into a POS.

Guigario also had a hand in a Isuzu model and he ItalDesign was partially responsible for the early-90's Subaru Legacy..

Ital Design was also responible for another, better looking Korean car, the Daewoo Lano. Yeah its a POS $7500 car but next time you see one look closesly, its a $7500 POS with actual asthetic design features. You won't find that in your average Accent, or Rio. You should soon be seeing more of them as a rebadged GM car I'd imagine as the Leganza is now a Suzuki.

Hyundai: Although the older cars are POS, the new (2000+) cars can easily compete with average Japanese cars and out beat american cars easily. All of the Hyundais and a platform change in the late 90s and in case of Sonata, they replaced over 2000 parts with new redesigned parts. Pretty much redesigned a whole new car.

Kias on the other hand, may still break down.
