Wheel nuts! Offset q--narrow okay?

Okay, wheel nuts, a question.

I understand that if you buy wider wheels, like 16x8, having a narrow offset, like 38mm, may still cause a problem.

What about if one goes to thinner wheels? I have a chance to buy a set of 16x7 wheels (for a great price) with a 38mm offset. (5x4.5) As this brings the centerline closer to the hub, shouldn't the new wheels bolt on okay?

Might I experience any other problems? Tires are 225/50/16.

From everything I've read, this will fit, but a 38 mm offset is kinda low for an SVX. The stock offset, which is 55 mm, wasn't chosen at random. My recommendation is that you save your money for wider rims with a higher offset. You'll get better handling. You may have to switch to 215/50/16 tires though for the best fit on the narrower rims.
