Re: Huge plane in my hood?!

Very weird. There seems to be no room to bring that thing into the yard with all the trees around it. You gotta find the story behind this one...

Re: Huge plane in my hood?!

This plane got there in pieces and was put together again in the yard. I bet it came in at least 30 pieces and it was reassembled back again.

We had a similar thing happen back home, but with a smaller plane. A guy bought it from the local airline company, it was an old scrap of a plane, he had it shipped on trailers in pieces and reattached everything back, painted her and fitted tables and chairs inside with a kitchen. It became a burger outlet until someone liked the idea and bought it from him and shipped it locally to a different area (I dunno where exactly).

Re: Huge plane in my hood?!

My hiding spot has been found!

But seriously, that is pretty cool. There is a thread on Nasioc's OT about a guy who grabs cockpits from planes and turns them into flight sim decks.

Maybe this guy wanted the full affect?

+1 Was thinking the same thing. It's either been there a long time, or it was assembled there.

Re: Huge plane in my hood?!

Looking at it again, I dunno.. doesn't seem to me as a "Huge" plane. Check out how it appears next to the tree, or the house, or...

It is somehow bigger than a private jet, but not that bigger

Awaiting CAMERA pix from MadMax

Re: Huge plane in my hood?!

I read a short blurb in some magazine a few years ago about people buying old transport aircraft to convert into dwellings. Dismantling, hauling, and re-assembly would take some effort and knowhow, I'd think.

Sure looks like a 707 to me.

Nah, the 8 year old kids down the street do it with their friends all the time. Constantly hauling and throwing around commercial airliner wings and engines. It's cute really.....

Same spot on Bing Maps...

No plane...

URL gets you close, but you will need to switch to aerial and do some hunting...

Re: Huge plane in my hood?!

The mystery deepens..... I'm guessing the Bings map is older, there is less junk in the guy's yard and the building directly in front of the plane is half the size.

Bing maps are utter fail. Seriously. I hate Bing.

Oh yeah, the maps are very old, if you look at the airport you can see 3 of those planes sitting there instead of 1 in Google maps, along with 2 other unknown 4 engine planes.
I am researching on this to get the anwer to this mistery
