Engine rattle on startup

Hi all, I own a silver tri colour RHD ADM 92 model with 167k - just over 100k miles. Car is in excellent condition with a FSH. I have a few issues I need some help with:

1. On startup there is a brief engine rattle. No noise when running. Sounds to me like timing chain? Is this a common condition with these? If so, will new tensioners fix it?
2. Fuel guage is inaccurate. We've traced it to the sender. My sparky says these are NLA. Will one from another Subaru fit?
3. Are strut units and bushes available?

Possibly the bolts on the oil pump have come loose on the engine.

1.They have a timing belt but a rattle at start-up seems to be a common Subaru sound. It's piston slap.
2.Sometimes the contacts can be cleaned up. Sulphur in the fuel corrodes them.
3.Struts and bushes are available from Subaru. If possible check the build date on the struts. Some have been on the shelf a very long time and will start leaking in short order.

Used to have engine rattle on startup only, but it lingered and turned into a constant engine rattle and got much louder until I took it to get looked at. Turns out the previous owner had a bad timing belt job done. Tensioner came loose and pushed through the timing belt cover. The two bits of good news are that the engine is fine, and this corrects the last vestige of work done by the previous owners' idiot mechanics. The bad new is over $1K in parts to put right, but I'd rather bite the bullet and use the right parts putting it back together again. How hard can it be to tighten all the bolts when reassembling the timing belt? Sigh...
